Could you prove what you owned? What’s your rig actually worth? Your whole rig, cataloged in 11 minutes.

When gear gets stolen, your insurer wants serial numbers, receipts, and photos — not your best guess. Check1 keeps all three ready for the worst night of your career. Point your camera at your gear. Check1 identifies it, values it, and keeps a running total that might surprise you. No spreadsheet. No typing model numbers. Photograph your gear and Check1 does the rest — even offline in the storage unit.

Built by a working DJ

Nate Lopes (DJ NattyHeavy) knows firsthand what a rig is worth. He’s spent 25+ years behind the decks. He’s shared stages with Snoop Dogg and Hootie & the Blowfish. He’s been voted Charleston’s Best DJ for over a decade. Check1 is the tool he built for hard-working DJs like himself all over the world.

Two people. No investors.

Check1 is made by two people who’ve been friends since we were three years old — a working DJ and a software builder — under our own roof at 1time studios. No investors, no acquisition timeline.

FAQ

When does Check1 launch?

We're finishing final testing now, launching August 2026 on iOS and Android. Early access members hear first — and lock in the founding rate.

What does it cost?

$29/year for the first 1,000 founding members, locked at that rate for as long as you stay subscribed, after a 7-day free trial with full access and no card. After the first 1,000 spots are claimed it's $50/year. One plan, everything included; billed annually, cancel anytime.

What happens to my data if I stop paying?

You keep read-only access. Even if you cancel, you can still open Check1, see everything you cataloged, and export it — your records are never held hostage. You just can't add or edit items until you resubscribe.

Does homeowners or renters insurance cover DJ equipment?

Sometimes, and often not the way you'd hope. Many homeowners and renters policies treat gear used for income as business property, which is frequently limited or excluded on a personal policy. It varies by insurer and policy, so ask your agent. Either way, if you ever file a claim you'll need to prove what you owned — which is exactly what Check1 keeps ready.

What do insurance adjusters ask for after gear is stolen?

Typically proof of ownership and value: itemized descriptions, make, model and serial numbers, receipts or other proof of purchase, photos, and current replacement values. Assembling that after a loss is painful. Check1 keeps it all in one claim-ready packet.

Where do I find the serial numbers on my gear?

Usually on a sticker or plate on the back or bottom of the unit, near the power input, or inside the battery compartment; for controllers and software it may be in the box, the manual, or your account. Check1 can read many of them straight from a photo when you scan the gear.

Do I still need Check1 if I track my gear in a spreadsheet?

You can start with a spreadsheet, and plenty of DJs do. The difference is that Check1 fills itself in from a photo — no typing model numbers — keeps values current, and generates a claim-ready packet an adjuster will actually accept. If your spreadsheet works for you, great; Check1 is for when you want it done in minutes and ready to prove.

Is my data private?

Yes. We never sell or share your data, and AI training is opt-out in settings and honored retroactively. Before launch we use your email only to tell you about launch and early access.

What platforms is it on?

iOS and Android, at launch.

Where can I get logos or press assets?

Our press and brand kit — boilerplate, fast facts, logos, and screenshots — lives at check1.app/press. Email contact@check1.app for anything you don't find there.
